About the role An opportunity has arisen for a skilled Financial Accountant to support the Monument Re Group Finance team. Based in Ireland and reporting to the Group Financial Control Manager, you will assist in preparing regular and ad hoc financial reports to executive management, regulators, auditors, and other stakeholders. You will ensure that financial controls are operating efficiently and effectively, and you will contribute to the ongoing enhancement of processes to help strengthen reporting capabilities across the Group Finance function. Responsibilities Assist in the production of accurate, complete and timely quarterly, annual, and ad hoc financial reports in line with applicable accounting standards, including: Group Management Accounts Group MI Audited Financial Accounts Regulatory Returns Debt Certification reporting Identify and deliver improvements in reporting processes, controls, and use of systems; Support Group Finance projects as required; Liaise and build relationships with relevant stakeholders including the wider Group Finance team; Ensure compliance with control and risk frameworks. Role Requirements Part/Newly Qualified accountant: ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent certification; Minimum 2-3 years’ experience within an insurance and/or reinsurance Finance function Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Demonstrates strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, and excellent attention to detail; Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals and control and compliance oriented; Experience in Group consolidation reporting would be advantageous. Experience in financial and reporting software packages e.g., Workiva and Anaplan would be an advantage; Flexible and adaptable whilst having the ability to prioritise work efficiently and effectively; Ability to build and maintain relationships with various teams within the Group.
