Rona Kerr Accountants is a well-established ACCA qualified accountancy firm based within Tanfield Lea Business Centre in Stanley. The business was set up in 2010 and prides itself on having grown organically via word of mouth from our existing clients being happy to recommend. Our team specialises in supporting a wide range of clients including sole traders, limited companies, and individuals with their full accountancy and tax related needs such as bookkeeping, accounts, VAT and tax returns as well as general business and tax advice. Our clients come from all different types of backgrounds and are involved in many different industries which provides a true variety in terms of workload.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Part-qualified (AAT/ACCA) or qualified by experience
  • Previous accountancy practice experience is essential
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software such as: Xero, Sage, VT Software, TaxCalc, QuickBooks
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to multiple software platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Friendly and professional communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a part-qualified accountant (AAT, ACCA, or qualified by experience) to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience and grow within a supportive and flexible environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Bookkeeping and maintenance of accounting records
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Supporting with tax computations and tax returns
  • Liaising with clients and HMRC on a regular basis
  • Administrative duties related to compliance and client services
  • Assisting or learning payroll duties as needed
  • Supporting the senior team with ad hoc financial tasks and client queries
