POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to Supervised Senior Implementors and Registered Behavior Analysts (RBAs), the Part Time Academic Tutor/ABA Supervised Implementor is responsible for implementing the individualized goals, objectives and priorities established for learners as well as the collection and reporting of data for their programs. Instructors will use Precision Teaching, Direct Instruction and other tools/curriculum, to teach targeted goals.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education in a related field (e.g., Psychology, Autism, and Behavioural Sciences)
  • Knowledge of and practical Applied Behaviour Analysis experience
  • Minimum of 3 to 6 months experience delivering ABA to individuals with Autism (ages 5 to 18)
  • Strong decision making skills to deal with daily learning challenges
  • Strong understanding of English language and grammar
  • Calm under pressure and when working without a Supervisor present
  • Willingness to be flexible and ability to think quickly to help de-escalate big emotions
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and evaluate program effectiveness
  • Ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work independently are essential
    The successful candidate must provide an acceptable Police Records Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening)

Responsibilities
  • Work with children/adolescents, one-on-one to implement individualized behaviour programming developed by Senior Supervised Implementors and RBAs
  • Daily collection, recording and analysis of data
  • Monitors learner progress and communicates to the Supervised Senior Implementors on any matters relating to the development of the Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  • As needed, creatively prepares daily materials
  • Participates in research of lesson topics and lesson development
  • Provides daily updates to parents/guardians
  • Attend professional development opportunities and required training provided by Shining Through Centre
