PART-TIME ACCOUNTANT

Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF)
Location: Bayonne, New Jersey
Hours: Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Starting Salary: $56,000
The Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF), a well-established nonprofit agency serving the Bayonne and Hudson County community, is seeking a Part-Time Accountant to support our finance team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of our fiscal department by performing essential accounting functions with accuracy and professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in the nonprofit sector is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred; candidates with at least five years of nonprofit accounting experience are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of grant reporting and nonprofit funding streams is a plus

Responsibilities
  • Assist with general accounting duties including data entry, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and monthly financial reports
  • Maintain financial records in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards
  • Support compliance and internal controls processes to ensure strong checks and balances
  • Work collaboratively with program managers and administrative staff to track expenses and maintain organized documentation
  • Provide financial information and reporting support as needed for grant applications and audits
  • Reports directly to the Executive Director and CFO
