Description Overview: The Abington Surgical Center is looking to fill a part-time position for an Administrative Assistant who will help support the billing and business offices. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and a background in medical billing. Responsibilities: Answer phone calls Verify insurance information Retrieve authorizations and referrals Scan and file documents Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail Run credit card payments Set up payments plans Track credentialing applications for medical providers Collaborate with staff and the offices to obtain billing and updated patient demographic information Other billing duties as assigned Expected Hours: 20 per week Schedule: M-F, days/time TBD Benefits: 401K Dental Insurance Paid Holidays Paid time off Requirements Qualifications: Previous experience working in a medical office setting Knowledge of various insurances and medical billing processes Able to work independently as well as part of team Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Experience using third-party websites including PEAR, NaviNet and Availity Highly organized, attention to detail Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and medical billing systems
