WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A FIREWALL MENTOR? The Mentor is an essential member of Firewall's leadership team. Mentors build a close relationship with a group of students, model positive behaviors, and support with academics all while having a ton of fun with kids every day! * Build meaningful, encouraging relationships with students and be a trusted, positive presence in their lives * Lead and participate in daily recreational activities that build relationships, teamwork, and HAVE FUN! * Support students with homework, projects, and test/quiz preparation while helping them grow in confidence and independence * Serve as a positive role model and help students navigate and resolve conflicts in healthy, respectful ways * Assist with daily program set-up and breakdown of site * Monitor and maintain accurate student data * Participate in quarterly trainings and special program events to continue growing as a mentor and leader AMERICORPS BENEFITS: * Bi-weekly consistent pay * Scholarship!
