QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Technical diploma/certificate in Electrical, Electronics, Fire & Safety, or Security Systems (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven hands-on experience with installation and servicing of fire alarm panels, detectors, alarm devices, and panic button systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Familiarity with wiring diagrams, schematics, and safety codes.
  • Attention to detail with precise record-keeping.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within limited hours.
Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for the installation, routine inspection, testing, servicing, and repair of alarm systems, panic button devices, and fire alarm systems. Ensures all equipment remains fully operational, reliable, and compliant with safety and security standards. This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) with fully flexible working hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install new alarm, panic button, and fire alarm systems (addressable and conventional).
  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on installed systems.
  • Perform functional testing to verify correct operation of devices, detectors, control panels, and emergency equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults; repair or replace defective components.
  • Respond to service calls for malfunctions, false alarms, or system failures (within part-time availability).
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, test certificates, compliance reports, and service documentation.
  • Report recurring issues and recommend corrective actions or system improvements.
  • Ensure all work complies with local regulations (e.g., EN54, BS 5839, NFPA, or relevant authority standards).
  • Provide basic user training and guidance on system operation and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with supervisors/management to align maintenance and installation schedules within part-time hours.
