Overview This position is for a part time position Mon-Fri in Presque Isle, ME. Times will vary/alternate 0845-1245 and/or 1215-1615.  This position is ideal for a retired law enforcement/military person looking to keep busy without a full time schedule.  Synopsis FPS Protective Security Officers (PSOs) are primarily responsible to perform security and monitoring work such as securing federal buildings and property, protecting personnel, equipment and material, and controlling access to work locations by employees and visitors throughout the state of Maine. The PSO will respond to emergencies, conduct inspections and perimeter checks, and access control. Job Requirements * 2 years of previous security experience, OR military experience, OR law enforcement to apply for this position. * Clean background check (no felonies or domestic violence/assault charges). All applicants will undergo a federal background.  * U.S. Citizen / hold a social security card * Must have a high school diploma or GED * Minimum of 21 years of age * Shall fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English * Pass a Medical Evaluation  * Drug Screen  * The company will assist in processing for federal background clearances * All candidates will have to go to Massachusetts for their new hire training (approximately 12 days- company pays for hotel).  Certification Requirements * Must have a Valid Driver’s License * Government Security Clearance (Company will assist) * Must pass a Maine background check (Company will assist) * First Aid/AED/CPR Certification (Company will provide training at no cost) * OC/Baton certification (Company will provide training at no cost)  * Must be able to pass a medical physical and drug screen (Company will pay for)  Pay Current: $30.13 base play + $5.10 for health and welfare  Pay increases on October 2026 to: 31.64(base) and 5.20 (health and welfare) Benefits: * 401(k) * Health insurance * Vacation * Referral program * Holiday pay Schedule: Schedules are based on the current Shift Bid.   Work Location:  Varies.
