Ket Baker Pty Ltd Trading as KET BAKER is looking for experienced BACK OF HOUSE HOSPO PEOPLE for our venue at WALLINGTON on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria.
We’re an artisan bakery, with a big heart, located on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula.
People seek us out for our 100% sourdough croissants, breads and small batch pastries that deliver the unmistakable Ket Baker hit.
Handcrafted, every croissant we make, takes five days to develop the intense flavour profile and texture that we’re known for. And as in nature, each croissant is unique. Each one takes on the natural elements of our shed kitchen – our sourdough culture, our weather, our moods!
Our small batch pastries feature local fruit, veg and produce (like goat’s cheese from Drysdale Cheeses and Lard Ass butter) alongside some of the world’s best Belgian chocolate.
And our bread? It’s what drives us. We believe people should be able to eat delicious and nutritious bread every day. Bread that you’ll love and that will love you (and your guts) back.
We’ve been baking on the Bellarine since 2016, and love being part of this small, dynamic, supportive community.
To be considered for the role you need to have a thirst for learning and preferably 2 years experience in a similar position.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
  • checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients
  • assisting our bakers in dough preparing
  • preparing pastry fillings
  • monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
  • coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products
  • glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
  • operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits
  • emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment
  • Hand shaping of loaves and rolls
  • Working with the senior team on product development
