POSITIONS PURPOSE This position reports to the Head Men’s Soccer Coach. The part-time assistant men’s coach is responsible for assisting the men’s intercollegiate varsity and junior varsity programs with all aspects of the men’s program under the direction of the head coach. Position responsibilities include the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, planning and executing instructional practice sessions, facilitating discipline-specific individual lessons with student-athletes, game/film review, team travel planning, and serving as a game-day administrator for other home contests. JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS * Partner with the Head Coach in the overall leadership, development, and advancement of the men’s soccer program, contributing to strategic planning and program direction. Coordinate and manage team operations, including practice planning, travel, and scheduling in collaboration with internal departments to ensure efficient program execution. Ensure adherence to NCAA and conference regulations, maintaining accurate documentation and overseeing required compliance processes. Assist in the development and execution of camps, clinics, and alumni engagement initiatives to enhance program visibility, relationships, and revenue opportunities. * Lead the instruction and development of student-athletes through technical training, tactical education, and individualized performance plans to maximize competitive success. Promote and monitor academic success and personal development of student-athletes through collaboration with academic support staff. * Oversee opponent analysis, scouting, and game plan development, utilizing video and analytics to prepare student-athletes for competition. Direct all video operations, including conference exchange requirements, and utilize film to support player development, game preparation, and staff decision-making. * Identify, evaluate, and recruit high-level student-athletes. * Other duties and functions as needed REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & PRINCIPLES * A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. * 1 year of college level athletic coaching is preferred. * Availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays. * The ability to express independent discretion and judgment; * The ability to write, articulate, and uphold University, athletic department, American Southwest Conference, and NCAA policies and procedures; * The ability to assess and cultivate student-athlete proficiency in key areas; * Knowledge of discipline-specific fundamentals and techniques, physical health, team-concepts, and personal safety; and excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. * The ability to work independently and as a member of a team and be able to effectively communicate to individuals and groups. * Ability to articulate and model the Concordia University Texas’ mission, vision, and values * Commitment to encouraging and supporting diversity, inclusion, and equity as a key component of becoming the premier university where the adventure of faith, learning, and life-changing experiences leads to meaningful work * All CTX positions require mission-driven individuals who have a heart for the Gospel and are committed to the Concordia Distinctive, our faith-based mission of empowering students from all backgrounds to lead lives of critical thought, compassionate action, and courageous leadership.
