Bar Mellow is looking for a strong shift supervisor to assist build and grow the brand/bar further, expanding into large events and more. Bar Mellow is a cosy bar located in Newcastle West NSW, we pride ourselves in warm inclusive service and high-quality wine & cocktails alongside a delicious bar food program.
Ideally you will have proven success in a similar role/venue or bartending. You will be the driving force behind the delivery of excellent customer service and positive workplace culture. We are currently nominated in the top 12 Wine Bars in Australia 2023.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Shift management – maintaining RSA house policy, following SOP’s, running shifts within guidelines, opening/closing the bar, End of Night Reporting and customer engagement. Assist the venue manager where possible.
  • Leadership and staff management – training & mentoring of new/existing staff and daily leadership.
  • Beverage Management – training staff (product knowledge), creating/developing beverages.

To be successful in the role you will be customer focused with a strong work ethic. Ideally you will have experience in a similar environment or a bartending position including a solid understanding of cocktails, spirits, and customer service. Exceptional personal presentation and communication skills are a must.
Part Time position for 30 hours per week, with room to grow as the venue grows further. Must be committed to working Friday/Saturday nights.
Regular communication with venue owners.
