ROLE OVERVIEW: As a Mettricks Barista you will be expected to deliver a high quality drink product in line with company standards to all customers. You will help provide an environment that is warm and welcoming to all Mettricks customers and visitors whether that is through direct interaction or by creating a clean, vibrant, and safe environment for both staff and customers. We expect all our staff to be sincere and authentic individuals who can help promote Mettricks as the speciality coffee company in Southampton.
Mettricks expects all team members to be flexible in line with the needs of the business or customers, and perform varied duties as and when required. Baristas who have completed our in-house training regime and have been signed off by their store Head Barista or Department Head are the only team members allowed to operate coffee machinery such as the espresso machine, & prepare hot drinks for customers.

SKILLS AND QUALITIES REQUIRED:

• Is enthusiastic, proactive, service orientated, well presented and punctual
• Undertakes and completes the designated and appropriate training modules
• Has a love and passion for coffee, food and high standards of service

On the shop floor

• Help drive coffee service on a day-to-day basis and set and uphold the expectations of Mettricks coffee standards and work efficiently and cleanly.
• Ensure minimal wastage of all products by accurate recording of wastage on shift
• Ensure weekly and daily tasks are completed, including opening/closing procedures and checklists as delegated by Supervisor team.
• Ensure complete cleanliness and order on the shop floor and help out with service in all aspects of front of house not just coffee service
• Stay calm and focused under pressure whilst being able to produce high quality beverages, communicate effectively with Supervisor and Floor team and thrive on a busy atmosphere.

• Act and present yourself professionally at all times, representing Mettricks values on the shop floor and to the coffee community at large
