REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years’ experience in a café, canteen or similar hospitality environment
  • Proven ability to lead and train a small team
  • Strong knowledge of espresso preparation, milk texturing, and recipe adherence
  • Experience managing inventory and ordering supplies
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain coffee equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20kg

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Part-Time Barista oversees daily operations of the café with a focus on delivering exceptional coffee and food experiences. This includes managing stock and equipment, supporting a positive and high-performing team culture, and ensuring outstanding customer service. The role also contributes to financial reporting and supports recruitment and training. This is a leadership-focused position for a barista with supervisory experience who thrives in a fast-paced, community-oriented setting.

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Monitor and control variable costs including stock and labour
  • Maintain budget alignment and propose cost-beneficial practices
  • Take ownership of full café P&L
  • Participate in weekly and monthly reporting with F&B management
