Description Location: Wyndmoor, PA (Tender Care Hospice) Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours/week Reports to: Director/Manager of Patient Services Tender Care Hospice is dedicated to guiding patients and their loved ones through the final stages of life with dignity and compassion. We believe bereavement support is an essential part of our mission to care for the whole family. Position Summary: The Bereavement Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Tender Care Hospice’s bereavement program. This role ensures families receive meaningful, compassionate support before and after the loss of a loved one. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee bereavement programs and staff/volunteers involved in service delivery. Develop new programs and educational materials for families, staff, and the community. Plan and facilitate bereavement support groups and events. Supervise and support bereavement staff and volunteers. Oversee bereavement follow-up for families in alignment with hospice protocols. Lead the bereavement segment of IDG conferences. Maintain resource libraries for community and staff. Assist with the orientation/training of new employees and volunteers. Prepare required reports for management. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field (preferred). At least 2 years’ experience in a related field; grief or loss counseling experience required. Strong ability to work independently and make timely decisions. Skilled in supervising staff and volunteers. Sensitive to diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds. Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation. Physical & Work Environment: Requires minimal physical exertion; occasional lifting/transfer of up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Exposure to varied home environments, including odors and bodily fluids. Must provide annual TB test and other state-required health clearances.
