Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of our growing pediatric practice. This role focuses on day-to-day financial management, accurate recordkeeping, and preparation of financial reports for leadership review. This position will work closely with the Practice Administrator and FPA leadership to ensure financial clarity and operational efficiency across all locations. Our physician-owned pediatric practice includes 14 physicians and 3 nurse practitioners across three locations in Northern Virginia, with our main office in Fairfax and satellite offices in Centreville and Brambleton. Schedule Part-time, approximately 20–25 hours per week with flexible scheduling. Compensation Competitive hourly rate based on experience and skills, including a comprehensive package with salary, PTO, and incentive opportunities. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable & Expense Management Process and track vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments Maintain organized records of expenses, contracts, and recurring payments Coordinate with vendors regarding billing discrepancies Payroll Support Process payroll and ensure accuracy in timekeeping and compensation Coordinate with HR and Practice Administrator on payroll changes (raises, bonuses, new hires, etc.) Maintain payroll records and documentation Financial Recordkeeping Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks) Perform bank and credit card reconciliations Reconcile incoming payments and deposits with billing/RCM reports Reporting Prepare monthly financial summaries, including income statements and expense reports Compile and organize consolidated financial data from FPA and Trusted Doctors for leadership review Highlight notable variances, discrepancies, or trends for Practice Administrator review Tax & Year-End Support Prepare and organize financial documents for CPA Support year-end close and tax preparation processes Maintain financial documentation in accordance with established policies Process Support Assist in maintaining efficient financial workflows and documentation Identify inefficiencies and escalate recommendations to the Practice Administrator Other Duties Provide additional financial support within the scope of bookkeeping responsibilities Requirements Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience Experience with QuickBooks (or similar software) required Healthcare or medical office experience preferred Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage routine financial processes independently Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong organizational and time management skills Clear communication skills with both financial and non-financial team members This job description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job requirements.
