Farrington’s Farm Shop is based at Home Farm, in the Somerset village of Farrington Gurney. Based on a working farm, we have a Farm Shop, Cafe, Playbarn, Fish & Chip Shop and shopping village . We also run seasonal farm events.
We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join the Playbarn kitchen team in order to deliver excellent food to our customers.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Playbarn and Playbarn Cafe is open seven days a week throughout the year, with kitchen shifts taking place generally between 8am - 5pm.
You will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations during your shift, including food preparation, cooking and maintaining high standards of food safety.
As Playbarn Cafe Chef, you’ll be working as part of a small and friendly team. You will report directly to the Playbarn Manager and Playbarn Kitchen Manager.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience as a chef/cook is desired but not essential as full training can be given to the right candidate
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Due to our location, use of your own vehicle is necessary, or access to reliable public transport to Farrington Gurney
