Royal Bridge High School is a fully, certified British Columbia Ministry of Education Independent School and all of our students are enrolled in the BC education system.
We are an accredited Group 4 Independent School in Coquitlam just minutes away from Coquitlam Centre and the Lincoln Skytrain Station. We offer Grades 10, 11 and 12 to international and local students.
We seeks a BC Certified (COQ) Teacher for a part-time position teaching History 12; Economics 12 ; humanity courses for our September 2025 to June 2026 school terms and beyond. ELL Teaching experience and qualifications are required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare classroom and course materials
  • Create individualized plans for students with special requirements (e.g. learning disabilities)
  • Research new teaching methods for teaching English as a second language
  • Create a supportive and positive classroom environment
  • Maintain records of student attendance and grades
  • Resolve crises in classroom
  • Inform parents about student progress
  • Collaborate with educational staff to provide a positive learning experience to students

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an ELL teacher or similar role
  • Knowledge of various methods of teaching English to non-native speakers
  • Great organizational and communication skills
  • A calm and resilient personality
  • Ability to handle classroom crises
  • ESL or TESOL certification
  • Degree in English Language, English Literature or similar field
  • BC Teaching certificate
