OVERVIEW

The cleaning assistant role is an extension of housekeeping, the role will be primarily be for cleaning/changing over rooms between guests stays but will also include specific tasks such as ironing, deep cleaning of all areas around the premises. The role will vary from day-to-day but always be based around cleaning and maintaining a high standard. The role requires someone proactive, independent and with a keen eye for detail. The main structure of the role will likely be 4x4hr shifts but this may vary throughout the week depending on the requirements of the business, we can offer some flexibility but the main housekeeping hours would be between 11:00 – 15:00 as a standard guide.
As part of the role tasks will be outlined based on requirements for each section of the Black Barn, a comprehensive task list will include specific instructions but the role is also reliant on independent thinking and proactive tasking.

EXPERIENCE & IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Cleaning, housekeeping and Hotel experience is preferred.
  • The individual should be thorough, have a keen eye for detail and have excellent time keeping skills. The successful candidate will be shown the main tasks then work independently to ensure they are complete to the highest standards, we will monitor and inspect specifics.
  • Detail is everything to us therefore it’s important that as a person you understand the importance of small detail but the necessity of speed and adaptability. We’ll provide guidance through direction but also as an individual you’d be proactive to anticipate future tasks and work within the direction to use self initiative.
  • Confident working independently and as a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to converse effectively.
  • A positive, can do attitude.
  • Reliable, flexible and presentable.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out cleaning to the interior and exterior of the spa areas.
  • Supporting housekeeping with room deep cleaning and everyday tasks relating to the rooms.
  • Supporting with laundry tasks, this includes but not exclusive to Ironing, Washing, Drying, Folding.
  • Follow set out task list to complete within allotted time agreed.
  • Maintaining standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Adhering to all Health and Safety requirements.
  • The role has flexible working patterns over a 7day period with last minute changes due to customer demand.
  • Supporting with the wider team with adhoc tasks throughout the shift.
  • Changing linen and elements as part of the spa experience between customers.
