PART-TIME COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR – KING’S CROSS CHURCHOVERVIEW

King’s Cross Church in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a part-time Communications Director to oversee the church’s communication strategy across digital platforms, print, and in-person channels. This role will ensure that our message is clear, consistent, and compelling—helping people connect with our church family and take their next steps toward Jesus.
The Communications Director will organize and lead volunteer teams for photography, videography, and content creation, while managing the church’s social media presence, website updates, weekly communication rhythms, and advertising efforts. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to translate our mission into engaging communication that reaches both our congregation and our community.

QUALIFICATIONS

Spiritual & Personal

  • Baptized believer in Jesus Christ.
  • Committed member (or willing to become a member) of King’s Cross Church.
  • Agreement with the mission, vision, and theological convictions of King’s Cross.
  • Passion for telling the story of what God is doing in and through the church.
  • Humble, teachable, and collaborative spirit.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in social media management for an organization, church, or brand.
  • Proficiency in writing engaging, concise, and mission-aligned copy.
  • Working knowledge of graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar) preferred.
  • Experience with digital advertising (Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills for scheduling and project management.
  • Basic photography/videography skills (preferred, not required).
  • 1–3 years of communications or marketing experience preferred.

  • Manage and grow the church’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) with engaging, mission-aligned content.
  • Plan and schedule content in advance to align with the church calendar and ministry priorities.
  • Create and post stories, reels, videos, and graphics that reflect the life and mission of King’s Cross.
  • Monitor engagement and respond to messages in a timely and pastoral manner.
