Position: Part-Time Consultant (Food-is-Medicine Business Development)
Estimated Time Commitment: ~15-20 hours per week
Location: Remote with occasional travel needed national (conferences) or local, may include overnights.

OBJECTIVE

4P Foods is seeking a part-time consultant to work closely with 4P’s Food-is-Medicine Account Manager to identify and develop new market opportunities for expanding its Food-is-Medicine initiatives with healthcare partners. In addition to supporting 4P’s current business development pipeline, the consultant will specifically focus on fostering relationships with strategic Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and other healthcare sector and government stakeholders, while creating pilot programs to deliver locally sourced Produce Prescription boxes to food-insecure communities in Virginia, DC, Maryland and North Carolina.

EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE:

  • Strong familiarity with, and existing relationships within, MCOs and the healthcare sector.
  • Deep understanding of Food-is-Medicine initiatives, Medicaid funding mechanisms, including Medicaid 1115 waivers, and healthcare partnerships.
  • Proven track record in business development, sales, or strategic partnership roles, preferably within healthcare, food systems, or social impact organizations.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Familiarity with fundraising and writing grant proposals.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to translate healthcare and policy insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a “roll-up-your-sleeves” approach to work.
