JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in

  • Prepare and cook traditional pub dishes to a high standard
  • Liaise closely with the Head Chef to ensure consistency and smooth kitchen operations
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, following food hygiene regulations
  • Assist Head Chef with stock levels deliveries
  • Work closely with front-of-house to ensure great customer experiences

This role is essential in maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene while supporting our chefs in delivering exceptional dining experiences.

SKILLS

  • Experience in meal preparation or food preparation is essential.
  • Culinary skills with a passion for cooking and learning new techniques.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to help others.
  • Excellent organisational skills to maintain a tidy workspace.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities within the kitchen.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a range of traditional and seasonal pub dishes to a high standard
  • Liaise with the Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations and consistent food quality
  • Assist in the creation of daily specials and menu development as directed by Head Chef
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen at all times
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen regulations
  • Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and assist with stock rotation and deliveries
  • Follow recipes and portion guidelines to control waste and manage costs
  • Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining attention to detail
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service
  • Assist in training new kitchen team members when required
