Are you an administrative whiz who can juggle large spreadsheets and multiple different schedules? Would you like to work within a program for seniors and make a difference in your community?
If so, Cycling Without Age Kelowna is looking for you! Cycling Without Age is a global program started in Denmark over 10 years ago. The premise is simple: through a specialized e-bike called a trishaw, we help seniors once again feel the wind in their hair. In 2024, the program enabled 682 riders to experience the beauty of their surrounding community here in Kelowna.
We’re in need of a part-time coordinator (contract position) to run the administrative side of the program. This includes scheduling trishaw rides for up to eight residential care homes; coordinating pilot training and documentation; liaising between residential care homes, pilots and committee members; managing all documentation and reporting for the program; researching grant opportunities; creating a monthly schedule for the program in an online booking system; attending once-monthly meetings with the Committee and taking minutes; and other tasks that may arise.
This position requires a strong aptitude in Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs and Gmail, as well as excellent communication, email management and writing skills. You’ll need a strong attention to detail as you juggle 15+ volunteers and eight homes, along with regular communication with the volunteer committee. Access to a computer or laptop is required. We are looking for someone who will stay with the program and help it grow over the next few years. The opportunities for the role are endless, as this is truly a role (and program) the incumbent can help shape.
The program runs May to mid-October, so the coordinator position is typically active between February/March and October of each year. Expect to work between three and five hours each week, with hours of work completely flexible. The role reports to a volunteer committee and funders, with remuneration starting at $25/hr. The successful candidate will have an opportunity for training in October 2025, with a start date in early spring 2026.
Please submit your resume and cover letter, telling us why you think you’re a great fit for this role, to . We thank everyone who expresses interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
