Reporting to the Building & Grounds Director, you’ll play a key role in keeping the YMCA facility clean, safe, and welcoming. From daily cleaning to organizing supplies and addressing maintenance concerns, your work directly impacts the experience of our members and staff. If you take pride in creating a spotless, inviting environment, this role is for you! Work-life balance matters — flexible weekday shifts available! Compensation: $15-17/hour ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform routine and deep cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting, and trash removal. Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, common areas, and high-touch surfaces throughout the shift. Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including mops, vacuums, floor scrubbers, and pressure washers. Replenish and restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. Report repairs, maintenance issues, or safety concerns promptly to the Building & Grounds Director. Assist with setting up furniture or equipment for meetings, events, and programs. Maintain a safe and welcoming environment by observing and reporting any suspicious activity or policy violations. Keep cleaning supplies and equipment organized and safely stored. Perform additional cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned. Requirements Must be at least 16 years old. Basic knowledge of cleaning and cleaning supplies. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents. Be able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

The custodian will perform routine and deep cleaning tasks to maintain a clean and welcoming YMCA facility. This includes cleaning restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas, as well as reporting maintenance issues and assisting with event setups.
