Description Position Type: Part Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt Location: Nashville, TN Schedule: Evenings and Weekends MISSION: (The essence of the job) The Part Time Docks & Shipping Associate is often the first point of contact for clients and crews arriving at the studio. This role is responsible for safe and efficient loading and unloading of gear and equipment, adhering to dock schedules, and ensuring a seamless transition for crews as they load in and out. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, and thrives in a fast-paced, environment. OUTCOMES: (What must get done and how will we measure success) · Assist the Operations Coordinator with daily operations of the loading docks and adjacent areas, ensuring docks, hallways and common areas are clear, organized and free of any hazards · Ensure all packages are received and logged into the shipping tracking system · Ensure all packages, gear, and equipment reach their intended destination · Assist with loading and unloading equipment, ensuring proper handling and storage · Maintain clear communication with staff and clients regarding docks schedule, availability and logistics · Report delays, damage or additional fees to the appropriate department · Monitor dock safety and enforce applicable safety policies · Provide basic support to clients, including directions, studio access, and minor troubleshooting · Report on maintenance issues or safety concerns to the Operations Manager Requirements CRITICAL 1+ years of experience in logistics, dock operations, or shipping and receiving Clean driving record required Familiarity with professional audio gear, backline equipment, and touring logistics Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends as needed CULTURAL · Strong ability to work with people and form relationships · Open to continuous learning in a dynamic environment · Willingness to pivot as business needs shift · Ability to remain calm in difficult and/or complex situations and maintain an action oriented, problem-solving mindset · Demonstrate pride and ownership in your work · A passion for live entertainment is a plus PHYSICAL · Frequent maneuvering of equipment of 50+ lbs. · Frequent walking throughout campus but may remain stationary for long periods of time · Frequently uses manual dexterity to type, and handle equipment · Frequent exposure to loud noises · Occasional exposure to loud music, fog, and lasers In addition to the functions listed above, the employee is expected to exercise honesty, integrity and respect with all clients and co-workers, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, maintain good attendance by working when and where directed, respect the work environment and keep it as neat and clean as possible.
