SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Using a customer centric approach, together with the client, the incumbent develops an individualized Employment Action Plan (EAP); provides ongoing monitoring, coaching and adjustments to the EAP to guide the individual through each intervention to ensure preparation for entry and retention in the labour force.
  • Interviews, assesses and guides clients to explore their career, employment and training goals and directs them to the services most appropriate to achieve successful outcomes.
  • The incumbent develops employer leads and connections to support all service delivery components of Lambton College Community Employment Services.
  • Develops individualized training/placement agreements including determination of the appropriate length of placement, level of financial incentives, monitoring schedule and required assessments/training. Modify training plans and discuss resources to support the training process, as needed.
  • Makes referrals/ advocates on client’s behalf to gain access to relevant community resources.
  • Maintains up-to-date client records and files in accordance with funded program Guidelines and departmental procedures, including client and employer contact documentation.
  • Facilitating information sessions/workshops and general health and safety orientation to clients, community partners and employers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-year diploma/degree (Human Resources Professional / Business Administration/ Career Development)
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a consultant working with multi-barriered clients requiring career planning or job search
  • Understanding of the Employment Standards Act and Workplace Health and Safety Legislation
  • Strong computer skills; experience with CaMS and case management software is considered an asset
