JOB TITLE: PART-TIME ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHER

Location: Milbank, SD
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: EE Relations Supervisor
Position Type: Part-Time (15–20 hours per week)
Schedule: Flexible; Daytime/ Early Evening

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Valley Queen is seeking a passionate and experienced Part-Time English Language Teacher to provide on-site English instruction to our Spanish speaking manufacturing workforce. This role is critical in helping our team members improve their communication skills, workplace vocabulary, and comprehension to enhance safety, productivity, and promotability. Instruction to take place on-site at Valley Queen.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, TESOL, Linguistics, or related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Culturally sensitive and able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate production shifts and operational needs.
  • Preferred:
  • Two years of teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), preferably to adults or in workplace settings.
  • Spanish is a plus but not required Working Conditions:
  • Class sizes may range from individuals to small groups.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver customized English lessons focusing on workplace communication, dairy and safety terminology, and basic conversational English.
  • Conduct needs assessments to evaluate the current language proficiency levels of employees.
  • Develop and use a variety of instructional materials and methods to engage adult learners with diverse backgrounds.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and curriculum delivered.
  • Collaborate with HR, safety teams, and department supervisors to align instruction with company-specific terminology and work scenarios.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to leadership on program improvement opportunities.
