Description Time Commitment/Hours: 1.25 evenings during the week (Monday-Friday) from 7:45 pm - 11:30 pm and every fourth weekend (Friday and Saturday) from 7:45 pm - 12:00 am from January 5 - May 31 Compensation/Benefits: $2,500 stipend; dinner is included on duty nights. Job Purpose: A vital role supporting students and the overall school community to ensure the smooth functioning of the school’s residential life program. This role is central to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive living environment for our students. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Be available for evening shifts during the week (7:45pm-11:30 pm) and 2 weekends per month (7:45pm-12:00 am). Build a positive and inclusive dormitory culture. Perform safety and wellness checks including rounds, lights out and room checks. Provide first aid or facilitate medical care in coordination with the SOC and health center. Uphold and enforce dorm rules and routines. Manage administrative tasks while on duty (attendance, forms, etc.). Supervise and support student events, activities and outings while on duty. Adhere to all School policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook Continually meet or exceed Pomfret School’s Standards of Behavior, Character, and Engagement Perform other duties as assigned Work Conditions: Requires walking, standing, reaching, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs The majority of duties are performed indoors Some responsibilities will require being outdoors in a variety of weather conditions Requirements Bachelor’s degree required but will consider current college students with anticipated graduation date of 2027 or sooner. Valid driver’s license. Experience with or interest in residential life, education or student mentorship. Ability to pass federal background check, fingerprinting and screening required.
