Description

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Manitoba supports the health and well-being of children receiving medical care by providing essential services and a home away from home for their families. Our programs include Ronald McDonald House, which provides accommodations for out-of-town families, and Ronald McDonald Family Room, a place of respite for both Winnipeg and rural families inside HSC Children’s Hospital.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Passion for the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities Manitoba
  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of hand and power tools as well as common repair techniques
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English communication skills are essential
  • Computer skills with some proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.), stand for long periods, and perform physically
  • demanding tasks
  • Ability to work inside/outside in all seasons
  • Clear Canadian driver’s license is an asset
    Hourly Wage Range: $18 - $20
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming facility
  • Conduct daily maintenance of guest rooms, ensuring all fixtures, furniture, and features are in excellent condition
  • Perform repairs as needed, including but not limited to drywall patching, painting, and furniture repair
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the facility’s exterior and grounds, including landscaping, pathways, and outdoor facilities, including Waste Management
  • Preventative maintenance inspections and reporting
  • Assist in maintaining a secure environment by conducting routine inspections of entry points, monitoring access control systems, reporting security concerns, and addressing potential safety hazards
  • Prepare for weather changes by winterizing equipment, clearing snow/ice, inspecting HVAC systems, and ensuring safe walkways
  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace, including the maintenance shops and storage facilities
  • Support Facility Manager to maintain inventory of facility supplies
