JOB DESCRIPTION

Shops at the Empress is looking for one part time team members to join us in our luxury fashion boutiques within the Empress Hotel. We are looking for a standard schedule of Mondays, Tuesdays & Fridays for 4 hours each. There will be potential for more hours should there be sick calls.
Shops at the Empress has been serving clients for 40+ years and has always aimed to carry a unique assortment of luxury fashion items that can’t be found in every boutique. As a new team member you will enjoy helping regular clients from Victoria to new clients from around the world.
Team members are responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and resolving issues
- Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor
- Stock shelves and merchandise products
- Assist with inventory management and restocking
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals
- Upsell products and services to customers

Skills:
-Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions
- Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and organized sales floor
- Experience in cashiering and handling cash transactions
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a positive shopping experience
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members
- Ability to sell products by highlighting features and benefits
- Proficiency in English language for effective communication
Joining the Shops at the Empress team is a fantastic opportunity to learn valuable sales skills and gain fashion experience in an ideal environment. We offer competitive pay and on site training for the position. There is also a $4 per meal food program available to all staff at our staff cafeteria.
Starting wage is $19 per hour.
Please note that this position may require standing for long periods of time and occasional lifting of heavy items. Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
