Description Assist in ensuring existing CUD fire hydrants are painted/re-painted to AWWA color code specifications. PRIMARY DUTIES Responsible for duties as assigned by the Valve Operations Foreman and management. Refurbish old, faded paint on the fire hydrants. Supports and implements all company safety policies and procedures. Conforms to guidelines formulated under OSHA, Workman’s Compensation, and company’s insurance carrier as well as State and Federal regulators. Maintains a safety attitude among employees. Maintains positive, productive customer relations/communications. Other duties as needed. Essential Functions Pressure washes old paint and dirt off existing fire hydrants Remove old paint chips using wire brush Apply Primer to fire hydrant Apply paint to fire hydrant barrel and bonnet Other duties as assigned Requirements JOB SPECIFICATIONS: A. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Must arrive on time Report any problems with equipment B. KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED Valid TN Driver License and safe driving record Good knowledge of Rutherford County C. SKILLS REQUIRED: Intermediate Computer Skills Level Operate a wide range of equipment and hand and air tools Basic tools, equipment, and vehicle maintenance Must have initiative and be resourceful in problem solving Must be able to communicate with people of all economic & education levels Should be detailed oriented, able to focus on task-at-hand Work is primarily performed in a field setting with exposure to moderate noise, and outside elements.
