We’re looking for Experienced Food and Beverage Dining Room Supervisor with Smart Serve Certification to join our team of Professionals. The right candidate will have previous Serving/Dining Room Supervisor experience and must excel in a seniors living environment. Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
1. Graduate of:
i) An accredited Food Service Supervision/Nutrition Management program, or
ii) Food & Beverage Management
2. Current Safe Food Handlers certificate
3. Previous employment in a health care/hospitality setting an asset.
4. Demonstrated understanding of/empathy for the needs of seniors.
5. Ability to direct and supervise others using written and verbal communication skills.
6. Familiar with micro-computers and dietary specific application an asset.
7. Willing to actively pursue personal and professional development.
8. Working knowledge of Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Sanitation Code, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Occupational Health and Safety, and Public Health Inspections.
9. Demonstrated experience in managing a budget.
Physical Demands:
1. Standing for extended periods of time.
2. Walking short distances and maneuvering in tight spaces within kitchen environment.
3. Pulling/pushing/lifting dishracks, food carts, bulk food items, etc., up to 50lbs.
4. Reaching and lifting food items and kitchen tools from and to upper shelving up to 10lbs – at times with use of an 18inch to 3ft stepping ladder.
5. Some memory work required when dealing with special dietary restrictions, inventory tracking and food ordering.
6. Dexterity required to open caps, pull spray triggers, open condiment packages, etc.
Job Description:
1. Direct and supervise the activities of the Food Service Department to ensure the provision of high-quality food service.
2. Train all Food Service employees. Establish and monitor workflow, evaluate performance and production making necessary changes to maintain quality service.
3. Ensure sanitation regulations pertaining to food preparation and food premises are followed.
4. Be knowledgeable of and practice residence’s fire and safety programs.
5. Adhere to established policies and procedures.
6. Maintain accurate records pertaining to each resident’s nutritional care.
Job Description: Risk Management and General Safety
1. Partners with community team to ensure community is in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and/or policies, adherence to safety rules and regulations.
2. Practices safety procedures always including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire safety procedures including extinguishers (as applicable), SDSs (Safety Data Sheets) and Lockout Tagout procedures.
3. Reports all accidents/incidents immediately.
4. Reports all unsafe and hazardous conditions/equipment immediately.
5. Complies with all infection control techniques, placement of biohazard containers and removal techniques, procedures and policies.
6. Participates in Fire Safety and Mock Disaster procedures.
