CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- A friendly and approachable attitude that makes our guests feel welcomed and taken care of.
- At least 1 years Food & Beverage experience is preferable but training will be provided
- Good knowledge of wines, beers, spirits, cocktails, and mixed drinks advantageous
- Experience with Point of Sale systems advantageous - but if you’re willing to learn, we will teach you what you need to know
- High attention to detail and proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to stand for extended period of times, and lift heavy Food & Beverage items (with assistance as per Manual Handling Best Practice)
- Ability and willingness to work variable / flexible shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Food & Beverage Assistant at The Ashe Hotel, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our dining services. Your responsibilities will include pre-shift preparation, greeting and seating guests, taking orders, beverage and food service, handling guest concerns, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Additionally, you’ll promote teamwork and collaboration by supporting fellow team members, fostering a welcoming work environment, resolving conflicts professionally, and assisting with team onboarding and development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Master the menu inside out, ensuring comprehensive knowledge to assist guests with menu choices and special dietary requirements.
- Dedicate efforts to creating memorable experiences for guests, going above and beyond to exceed their expectations and leave a lasting impression.
- Assist in pre-shift preparation, including table setup and cleaning.
- Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables, providing menus and assisting with seating arrangements.
- Take food and beverage orders promptly and accurately, making recommendations when necessary.
- Relay orders to the kitchen or bar using our POS system and ensure timely delivery.
- Serve drinks and food in accordance with service standards and HACCP guidelines.
- Check back with guests after food delivery to ensure satisfaction and handle any concerns professionally.
- Clear tables promptly, reset for new guests, and maintain cleanliness throughout the dining area.
- Assist with billing, payment processing, and end-of-shift duties as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and collaborate to ensure efficient service.
- Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
