Description

River Rock Casino Resort is currently seeking friendly, energetic and experienced Porter to join our Food and Beverage team. The Food and Beverage Porter is responsible for the physical set up of banquet rooms and the theatre. On occasion they will be required to assume all roles of a server including serving food and beverages to guests. We are gearing up for a busy season and are seeking individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a Food and Beverage environment, banquet experience an asset
  • Serving It Right, Smart Serve or IGB certification, or the ability to obtain a Serving it Right Certification
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
  • Fantastic customer service skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Being collaborative and never losing sight of being a part of a team
  • The ability to successfully obtain a criminal record check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
  • Ability to bend, squat and lift up to 50 pounds

    Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including afternoons, evenings, nights, graveyards, weekends, and holidays. The hours of work will be based on operational and business needs
Responsibilities
  • Assisting with room and table set up including moving furniture
  • Properly clean and set meeting rooms and banquet functions per specifications
  • Keep service corridors, pre-function space, and storage areas clean, organized and unobstructed
  • Set up and maintain buffet stations and/or coffee stations
  • Bartending duties as required
  • Serving guests menu items in a prompt and courteous manner and checking to ensure satisfaction
  • Stocking room supplies such as linen, pads, pens/pencils and mints, etc. as required
  • Clearing tables, removing glasses and re-stocking if required
  • Assisting other servers as necessary
  • Liaising and communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performing other duties as assigned or directed
