The Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton Ottawa Downtown, conveniently situated in downtown Ottawa, is steps from Parliament Hill with light rail transit transportation at the hotel’s front door for easy access too many points of interest including festival venues. The hotel features 171 extended-stay guest rooms under the Homewood Suites by Hilton banner and 175 units providing short-stay accommodations under the Hilton Garden Inn banner with a total of 4,500 square feet of conference space, a bar, restaurant, pool and fitness facility.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Servers at the Tulip Restaurant and bar play an integral role and genuine devotion to our customers by providing memorable experiences for our guests. We are interested in growing our team, and are in search of a professional Server. The right person will be passionate about food and service. The ideal candidate will have a friendly, outgoing disposition and previous experience working as a Server in a, fast-paced restaurant/bar setting.

Responsibilities and duties include:

• Greet customers warmly and direct them to their tables
• Provide exceptional service to our guests throughout their dining experience
• Take orders from guests and process in POS
• Memorize our food and beverage menus and make recommendations
• Upsell menu items
• Promptly address and resolve any guest inquiries and/or complaints
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of your section before, during, and at the completion of your shift (tables, settings, chairs, floor, etc…)
• Ensure that tables in all stations are properly bussed through the meal
• Report to work on time and in full uniform
• Collaborate with other colleagues throughout the hotel and F&B operations
• Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
• Adhere to hotel standards and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent customer service skills & friendly demeanour
• Previous restaurant serving experience (minimum 1 year)
• Attention to cleanliness and safety
• Excellent communication & presentation skills
• Experience operating POS (Micros experience is an asset)
• Experience handling cash and settling financial transactions
• Responsible and trustworthy
• High School diploma
• Ability to stand for long period of time up to 8 hours, & lift up to 50 lbs
• Smart Serve Certified
