SOL SCHOOL OF MUSIC & INSTRUMENT STORE – RICHMOND HILL, ON

10 hrs/week · Two 5-hour shifts
Snapshot – We’re a vibrant music school and musical instrument shop looking for a tech-savvy, people-first receptionist to be the friendly voice and face of our front desk. You’ll handle calls, greet students and shoppers, and keep our schedules and spreadsheets running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and direct all visitors, students, and delivery personnel, maintaining a warm, professional atmosphere
  • Answer phone calls and emails; take detailed messages for teachers and management
  • Manage lesson calendars, invoicing logs, and stock trackers in Excel/Google Sheets
  • Keep the front counter tidy; process point-of-sale transactions for accessories, sheet music and Instruments
  • Support marketing and events (e.g., recital sign-ups, social-media, etc.)

Core Qualifications

  • Excel & Office proficiency (formulas, filters, basic charts, mail-merge)
  • Fluent spoken and written English; Farsi or additional languages is an asset
  • Proven comfort with phones and in-person customer service
  • Able to work two fixed 5-hour shifts (current needs: late-afternoon/early-evening weekdays; some weekend flexibility)
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

Valued Assets

  • Experience in a music-school, retail, or performing-arts setting
  • Knowledge of common musical instruments and accessories
  • customer service experience
  • Passion for music education and community engagement

Compensation & Perks

  • Hourly wage commensurate with experience & retail pay benchmarks (pay-transparency ranges will be disclosed during interviews, in line with upcoming Ontario regulations)
