TITLE: PT Sexual Violence Response Advocate.
General Description: The sexual violence response advocate is responsible for providing crisis intervention, advocacy, supportive services for victims of sexual assault, intimate partner violence and their friends/family/partners. The SVRA is responsible for assisting in recruiting, training, and supervising volunteer rape response advocate. The SVRA is responsible for coordinating with law enforcement agencies, and social service agencies that provide services to victims of sexual assault, and intimate partner violence. The SVRA is responsible for maintaining the Rape Crisis Center.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in education, public information, community development, or human service field, or related experience.
2. General understanding of dynamics and prevention of sexual assault and child sexual assault.
3. One year experience working with victims of sexual assault and/or combination of training and experience working with victims of sexual assault.
4. One year experience working with victims of domestic violence and/or combination of training and experience working with victims of domestic violence.
5. Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
6. Detail oriented.
7. Ability to problem solve
Preferred:
1. Training and/or experience in crisis intervention.
2. Training and/or experience in providing trauma informed services.
3. Experience and/or experience in providing trauma informed services.
4. Familiarity with community and its resources.
5. Experiences with volunteer programs.
6. One year experience in public speaking.
7. Bilingual is a plus
8. Ability to work overnight and on call hours.
9. Ability to respond to exams within 45 minutes of being contacted.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Answer crisis calls at Rape Crisis Center.
2. Provide information and referrals, crisis intervention, and counseling information as appropriate on the phone, face-to-face, and e-mail.
3. Respond to sexual assault calls at the rape crisis center, medical facilities, schools, police department, and other locations provided safe to do so.
4. Respond to domestic violence calls for the purpose of a DVNE at the rape crisis center, medical facilities, police department and other locations safe to do so.
5. Coordinate with sexual assault nurse examiners for exams.
6. Coordinate services needed to reduce trauma and reduce revictimization.
7. Maintain client records.
8. Maintain rape crisis center.

GENERAL DUTIES:

1. Maintain rape crisis center to meet all fire, city and health codes.
2. Follow all policies and procedures of the Women’s Resource Center,Inc.
3. Meet requirements as set out by standard and criteria of the Oklahoma office of the attorney general.
4. Follow all requirements by applicable grants.
5. Fill in for other rape response advocates as required.
6. Perform other duties as required.
