The Opportunity In this part-time, on-site role based in Newton, Massachusetts, with a 20-25 hour per week commitment, the Group Facilitator serves as a core member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. Provides direct facilitation of structured, evidence-based psychoeducational and process groups across Asteroid Mental Health’s continuum of mental health services. This position works closely with clinicians, prescribers, and program leadership to support treatment planning, reinforce therapeutic goals, and promote continuity of care. The Group Facilitator plays an essential role in supporting client engagement, skill development, and therapeutic progress while maintaining compliance with clinical documentation requirements and Massachusetts behavioral health regulations. What You Will Do at Asteroid Health Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, or a related behavioral health field required Active Massachusetts licensure as an LMHC, LCSW, or LICSW is preferred, but not required Minimum of 1 year of experience facilitating or co-facilitating groups in a mental health or behavioral health setting preferred Experience working with adult populations in outpatient, Intensive Outpatient (IOP), PHP, or psychiatric day treatment settings preferred Knowledge of group dynamics, psychoeducation, and evidence-based or skills-based group interventions Working knowledge of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and client-centered care practices Strong documentation, time management, and communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary treatment team Why Join Asteroid Health Be part of a mission-driven organization committed to ethical, high-quality behavioral health treatment.
