Haven Behavioral Hospital of Philadelphia provides inpatient psychiatric stabilization and treatment to adults and older adults experiencing acute symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood swings or psychosis. Services are provided by psychiatrists, nurses, therapists and other professional staff who are dedicated to improving the quality of life of our patients. POSITION SUMMARY: Collect and assemble records/data into the prescribed format. Analyze data to ensure records meet regulatory and hospital standards. Implement practitioner completion process. Uphold levels of security and confidentiality to execute appropriate release of information. PRIMARY DUTIES: Must code and classify date sets for IOP utilizing ICD and DSM in compliance with the Company’s deadlines with an error rate not to exceed 5% (measured through periodic audits). Provide as needed coverage and training to other Haven Hospitals as needed for coding and HIM. Collect and assemble records/data in the established format. Collect and assemble records in timely and efficient manner. File and retrieve records and data according to hospital standards. Analyze data to ensure records meet regulatory and hospital standards. Assist in the practitioner completion process. Assist practitioner notification process regarding delinquent medical records per the Medical Staff Bylaws. Execute appropriate release of information (written, verbal and electronic) ensuring levels of security and confidentiality according to laws, regulations and hospital policy. Screen and prioritize incoming telephone calls, visitors, and mail. Answer questions regarding departmental and facility release policies in factual and confidential manner. Assist in upkeep of Master Forms Binder. Assist in maintaining easy access to regularly used forms. Assist in the collection and submission data for IPFQR/HBIPS and CMS required reporting. Assist in medical record internal and external auditing processes. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma. AA preferred. Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of inpatient record experience in an acute care hospital setting. Acute inpatient psychiatric setting preferred. Proficient in office and computer skills including but not limited to the use of copiers, computers, and associated applications such as E-fax, Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Certifications/Licenses: CCS, CCA, CPC, RHIT, RHIA preferred or test eligible preferred.
