PART TIME HOURS (APPROXIMATELY 30 HOURS A WEEK)
My client is seeking to recruit a part time skilled and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and professionalism, as well as the ability to navigate various road conditions
Primary responsibilities: -
- Safely and efficiently operate HGV Class 2 vehicles to transport goods and materials to customer sites locally and occasionally nationally. Rarely nights out.
- Secure loading and unloading of goods utilising a Moffett forklift (training will be given if required)
- Plan and navigate delivery routes effectively, considering factors such as traffic conditions, road restrictions, and customer schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly, including delivery notes, vehicle inspection reports, and any other relevant documentation, ensuring compliance with company procedures and legal requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times, representing the company professionally and courteously during interactions with customers.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies while operating vehicles and handling equipment, ensuring the safety of yourself, your colleagues, and members of the public.
Requirements:-
- Hold a valid HGV Class 2 driving license, with a valid in date Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
- Proven experience as a commercial HGV driver, preferably with experience with curtain siders.
- Previous use of Moffett forklifts although training can be given
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation governing the transport of goods by road.
- Excellent driving skills and a clean driving record, with a commitment to safety and adherence to traffic laws and regulations.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks as required.
