Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education (LiPACE) As one of the eight schools of HKMU, LiPACE has a strong track record of serving diverse learner groups in Hong Kong. Established in 1992 as the Centre for Continuing and Community Education, the institution was elevated to an Institute in 2000 and officially named LiPACE. In January 2020, the University Council approved LiPACE’s normalization as a School, marking a major milestone in its development. As the designated professional and continuing education arm of the University, LiPACE is committed to providing high-quality learning opportunities with a primary focus on Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET). This distinctive role differentiates it from the other schools of the University, which primarily offer bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programmes through full-time and distance learning modes. LiPACE’s academic remit and community engagement activities are organized around four key programme areas: (1) Further Education, (2) Access Programmes, (3) Professional and Continuing Education and Corporate Training, and (4) Adult Education. Beyond these core areas, LiPACE actively promotes non-formal learning in the community through targeted projects. We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position(s) in the LiPACE: Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible for teaching courses at different levels in the following subject areas on a part-time basis (including daytime or evening on weekdays or weekends). (A) Full-time Programmes (Higher Diploma / Diploma) - Daytime Teaching on Weekdays Accounting and Finance (Principles of Management Accounting, Banking Services) Basic Medical Science (Anatomy and Physiology, Human Pathophysiology, Microbiology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Pharmacology) Business Management and Marketing (Business Management, Services Marketing and Digital Marketing) Chinese Culture Appreciation Chinese Language Civil Engineering (Advanced Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics, 3D Building Information Modelling, Construction Materials, Unreal Engine, Structural Analysis, Reinforced Concrete Design) Creative Culture, Media and Arts Practice (Video and Digital Media Production/Software Editing, Design Thinking and Advertising, Art Direction for Multimedia Design, Animation and Film) Criminal Justice / Criminology Disciplinary Forces (Police Force, Fire & Ambulance Service, Immigration Service, Customs and Excise Service, Correctional Services) Early Childhood Education (Infant and Toddler Care and Education) English Language Information Technology (AI, Blockchain, Data Analytics, E-Commerce) Nursing (Basic Caring Skills and Health Assessment, Elderly Care Nursing, Fundamental Health Interventions, Fundamentals of Nursing and Health Promotion) Pet Food Nutrition and Wellness / Exotics Pet Care and Management Psychology (Research Methods and Statistics, Biological Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Positive Psychology, Learning and Motivation) Putonghua Supplementary Health Care Subjects (Community Health Care, Sociology and Health, Ethical and Legal Issues in Healthcare) (B) Part-time Professional Programmes Museum and Heritage Management Property and Facility Management Tree Management (C) Corporate Training Programmes - Daytime Teaching on Weekdays Mediation Procurement of Public Services Candidates For (A) Full-time Programmes and (B) Part-time Professional Programmes, candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A relevant higher degree and professional qualifications in the related subject area; and At least 5 years' relevant working experience. Candidates with lower qualification but with substantial working experience may also be considered. For (C) Corporate Training Programmes, candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A degree or higher degree in the related subject area; At least 3 years of working or teaching experience related to the subject area prior to the advertisement closing date; and Teaching experience with the government, public or private organizations in similar subjects is highly preferred.
