Description
The Asian Studies Center is seeking a part-time instructor to teach HIST 1005 — Taiwan Economic Miracle in the Spring 2026 term. This 3-credit course will be delivered fully on campus. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Asian Studies, History, Economics, or another related area. Responsibilities: Develop and deliver course content that explores Taiwan’s postwar economic development and its global significance. Prepare and lead class sessions, assignments, and assessments in alignment with departmental learning outcomes. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and attendance in accordance with university policies. Provide regular office hours to support student learning and engagement. Participate in occasional departmental meetings or academic activities as appropriate. Required Skills and Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise in modern East Asian history or economic development, with specific knowledge of Taiwan preferred. Proven ability to design and deliver effective, engaging instruction at the college level. Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
