JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team every Fri, Sat & Sun at Threeways Nursing Home. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a kitchen environment, a good understanding of food hygiene, and a willingness to work as part of a team. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the kitchen by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

SKILLS

• Previous experience working in a kitchen or catering environment is preferred
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and health and safety standards
• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a busy kitchen
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable

• Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the direction of the Chef
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in line with hygiene regulations
• Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients as required
• Clean kitchen equipment and utensils, and ensure proper storage of items
• Assist with serving meals and clearing down after service
• Receive and store deliveries, checking for accuracy and quality
• Follow all food safety and health and safety procedures
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen and care teams to ensure residents receive a high standard of service
