However, the learning coach will follow along with each class and offer support if the student needs help understanding the material at the moment. The ideal person is patient, clear, and consistent. They should know how to create a calm environment while encouraging focus and curiosity. About the Student He is highly creative, deeply curious, and loves to learn when he sees how the material connects to the world around him. Otherwise, he couldn’t care less. He needs support staying on task, especially during transitions or after returning from travel. The right coach will be someone who can gently redirect him without escalating and who is excited about helping him grow his independence as a learner. He loves to travel and has already been to six countries.. He enjoys food, music, anime, graphic novels, and asking big questions. Weekly Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM Some Fridays include school field trips or social events like dances. These are planned in advance and often require a car. Daily structure: 8:30 to 9:00 AM: Morning prep and schedule review 9:00 to 12:30 PM: Online classes and independent study blocks 12:30 to 1:00 PM: Assignment check-in and wrap-up The learning coach will be in the room for all sessions, helping him stay engaged and productive. The learning coach will verify that all assignments are turned in properly. They will also identify any areas of need for our student, so that we can provide additional support. During parts of the year when the family is traveling, the learning coach will still be expected to support virtually, and we will ensure remote access to his learning platforms. Mother works from home and is often available to support when needed. Calendar and Pay Notes We follow the school calendar. Holidays when school is closed will still be paid.
