Description
Description The individual will be responsible for covering a maternity leave beginning in mid-April through the end of the school year in early June. This is a long-term substitute position covering History classes for our Upper Campus. This is a part-time, Monday through Friday position with 3-4 hours per work day. Requirements • Integrate Biblical truths throughout each of their courses in written materials and oral and written instructions to students, in furtherance of the school’s religious mission; lead in prayer with students and assist in their spiritual development. • Recognize the role of parents as primarily responsible, before God, for their children’s education and be prepared to assist them in that task. • Establish an environment for learning that displays proper discipline both in the classroom and on school premises. • Avoid being a proponent of highly debatable theological topics as much as possible that tend to divide evangelical believers. A student is to be referred to his/her local church if a debatable topic arises of a theological nature. Physical Requirements • Move about the classroom and supervise students during class. • When the recess monitor is unavailable, take their students onto the playground or in the gymnasium area and keep up with students, control them until reaching the playground/gymnasium and remain with the students on/in the playground/gymnasium. • Physically accompany students in the hallways or in other places inside and outside the buildings as the students move from one location to another location on the premises. • Have sufficient vision to allow for active supervision and interaction with students. • Supervise students at the closing of each day as students are dismissed to buses and/or for their rides, including times of rain, snow and freezing weather • Have the ability to quickly summon help when an emergency arises either in the classroom, gymnasium or on the playground. • Climb the stairs to reach the classrooms/offices on the higher floors at all campuses. • Must be able to lift boxes up to 15 lbs. Qualifications • Have a mature relationship with Jesus Christ as his/her personal Lord and Savior and be active in an evangelical church. • Be a Christ-like model for students in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (Luke 6:40) • Be supportive of the school's mission and doctrinal statements. • Acceptable PA DOE employment clearances dated within one year: FBI Fingerprint/ Act 114 Federal Criminal Background Check (Identogo Service Code 1KG6TR), Act 151 State Child Abuse Background Report, and Act 34 PA State Police Background Clearance • Bachelor’s Degree. • Basic personal computer skills (Gmail, Word, Excel) • Feels called of God to the teaching profession. • Have the spiritual maturity, academic ability and personal leadership qualities to “train up a child in the way he should go.”
