The Machinist puts their highly-specialized skills to work to develop custom solutions for our customers. We are looking for a Part Time Machinist Assistant to help with the flow of the day-to-day machine shop operations Key Responsibilities Assist Machinists with projects as needed Ability to disassemble cylinder heads and blocks Ability to operate die grinders and sanders Utilize a bead blaster and jet wash for thorough cleaning of engine components, including heads, blocks, cranks, and manifolds. Perform magnaflux testing on heads to detect any potential cracks or flaws. Understand our customers’ unique needs and accurately record information relating to the machine shop services that are requested. Strong organizational skills while working on multiple projects Strong customer service skills and communication skills Prior forklift operator experience or the ability to obtain a forklift license Lifting of a minimum of 70 pounds on a regular basis Standing, lifting, twisting, bending, walking and sitting Some computer knowledge and proficiency is helpful, but not required Your schedule would be flexible with 20-25 hours, Monday through Friday between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM
