Description
Description We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Part-Time Machinist to support our medical device R&D and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mills, lathes, and a variety of manufacturing tools, as well as a working knowledge of medical device regulations. This role requires flexibility in job responsibilities and the ability to collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to address a wide range of machining needs, including fixture production/modification, reactionary repairs, and prototype development. What You'll Do Operate and maintain manual and CNC mills, lathes, and other shop equipment for the fabrication and modification of components and fixtures. Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to support R&D projects, production repairs, and automation equipment development. Interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and specifications to produce high ­quality parts. Ensure all machining activities comply with applicable medical device regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485). Assist in troubleshooting and repairing automated production equipment as needed. Support continuous improvement initiatives in machining processes and shop organization. Perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Requirements What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in machining preferred. 3+ years of experience operating mills, lathes, and other manufacturing tools. Familiarity with medical device manufacturing standards and regulatory requirements. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities. Desired Skills and Attributes Proficient in manual and CNC machining operations. Knowledge of materials commonly used in medical device manufacturing. Understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance in a medical device environment. Ability to troubleshoot and repair shop equipment. Flexibility to take on varied tasks as needed.
