JOB OVERVIEW:

SpiderSmart Learning Center of Waterloo is seeking enthusiastic and qualified educators to join our team as part-time teachers for Grades 9–12. This position involves delivering one-on-one instruction in a small group setting (up to 3 students), using our structured SpiderSmart curriculum. No lesson planning or grading is required outside of class.
We are looking for candidates who are confident in teaching high school-level Math, and Science—including Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. As students may bring in homework or current classroom topics, tutors must be flexible and ready to provide academic support regardless of where students are in their school syllabus.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry or a related field
  • Strong understanding of the Ontario Curriculum for Grades 9–12
  • Proven experience teaching subjects such as Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and engagingly
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Fourth-year university students or graduate students with strong teaching/tutoring experience are encouraged to apply

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION (MUST HAVE):

  • Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) designation, or current enrollment in an OCT program beginning in September
