As our practice continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced professional to support and strengthen our billing and credentialing operations.Position Summary:

We are looking for a Medical Billing and Mental Health Credentialing Specialist with proven experience supporting small to medium-sized group therapy practices. This is a remote, part-time position (10–15 hours per week) with the potential to grow into a full-time Practice Manager role as the practice expands.The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 3–5 years of experience in medical billing for group therapy practices.
  • 3–5 years of experience with clinician insurance panel credentialing and CAQH management.
  • Strong understanding of mental health insurance billing practices, including claim submission, EOBs, denials, and appeals.
  • Experience managing billing for practices generating $250K–$500K annually.
  • Familiarity with California-specific insurance regulations and requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in medical billing for mental health services in a small to medium group practice setting.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in clinician credentialing with insurance panels and CAQH management.
  • Strong knowledge of CPT codes for mental health services.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and billing software.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, while meeting deadlines and ensuring accuracy.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately process and submit insurance claims for individual, couples, and family therapy services.
  • Manage and reconcile accounts receivable, including following up on unpaid or denied claims.
  • Ensure compliance with payer requirements and state regulations.
  • Oversee clinician credentialing with insurance panels, including CAQH management and re-attestations.
  • Monitor and maintain clinician insurance panel status and contract renewals.
  • Provide reporting on billing, collections, and credentialing status to the owners.
  • Work closely with the practice owners to establish, refine, and document billing operations and procedures to support long-term growth.
