Part-Time Medical Fax Management Clerk JOB SUMMARY: The Fax Management Clerk is responsible for organizing, reviewing, and processing incoming fax documents to ensure accurate and timely distribution within the organization. This role supports office efficiency by maintaining a clear and organized fax system and ensuring important documents are properly routed and documented. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Review fax documents for completeness, accuracy, and relevance * Sort and distribute faxes to appropriate departments or personnel * Scan, upload, and index faxed documents into electronic systems (EHR/EMR or shared drives) * Ensure proper labeling and documentation of all processed faxes * Identify urgent or time-sensitive documents and prioritize accordingly * Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and privacy regulations * Communicate with staff regarding missing or unclear information on faxes * Assist with basic administrative tasks as needed QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or equivalent * Previous administrative or clerical experience preferred * Familiarity with office equipment (fax machines, scanners, copiers) * Basic computer skills, including file management and data entry * Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems is a plus SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: * Strong attention to detail and accuracy * Good organizational and time management skills * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Strong communication skills * Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion WORK ENVIRONMENT: * Office or healthcare setting * Primarily desk-based work involving computer and document handling SCHEDULE: * Temporary position * Part-time (hours flexible based on organizational needs) * May require consistent daily or weekly shifts to maintain workflow REPORTS TO: Office Manager POSITION OVERVIEW: This role is critical in keeping document workflows efficient and organized, ensuring that important communications are not delayed and that patient or business records remain accurate and up to date. ```
