Description

As a merchandiser, you are responsible for ensuring the store racks and product displays are full, organized, and properly dated. To estimate inventory and submit product orders in a timely fashion, ensure stocks are available, and limit product spoilage and returns. Build the report with the vendor staff and management, and report any issues that may arise. Submit any documents or reports required by the company on time.

The duties and responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to:

  • To receive product delivery by counting the quantities of the products with the receiver manager and verifying them with the invoice attached to the delivery paperwork. (Applicable to all merchandisers except Edmonton and Calgary stores)
  • To send electronic copy of the Costco invoice for each vendor and their stickers, and bill of lading to email to designated email address. Mail all invoice originals via Purolator to the designated address assigned. (Applicable to all merchandisers except Edmonton and Calgary stores)
  • Transporting the products in the pallet from the backroom/storage room to store front to merchandise using the manual pallet jack or shopping cart.
  • Follow FIFO when replenishing the product displays with proper date labels in their designated racks, shelves, and tables. Ensuring proper product signage, and to maintain organize, clean, and appealing view for the customers.
  • To remove expired or defective products from the shelves or table, and to secure and label them in one location for counts and reporting.
  • Ensuring all products are on display and keeping backroom stock (if applicable) at a minimal or none, or maintaining and monitoring backroom product, pallets, product shelves, etc.
  • Build rapport and maintain professional relationships with the customers, staff members, and store management, and report any related problems and incidents to the DNW management.
  • Adhere to all store policies regarding backroom, display floor, replenishment, cleanliness, equipment, and safety.
  • Comply with all DNW and individual store rules, policies, and procedures, including handling equipment and health and safety regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with manual or powered pallet jacks preferred
  • Able to lift, carry, and position products (weight up to 50lbs or 22kgs) above shoulder height without assistance. Consistent kneeling, squatting and reaching above the head.
  • Capable of pushing and pulling manual and powered equipment (i.e. pallet jack, hand-truck, etc.) containing product loads for a minimum of 100 yards without assistance.
  • Ability to repetitively grasp and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Able to drive to different locations depending on your assigned stores.
  • Must have access to a personal vehicle and smartphones with internet data for use during working hours
  • A valid driver’s license
  • One (1) year of experience working in grocery, retail, warehousing, or related field preferred
  • Must be willing to work a split shift
